Philly Roda de Samba e Choro
In Brazil, samba is a style of music and dance, a community celebration, and a way of life. The “Philly Roda de Samba e Choro” presents samba as it is most often performed in Rio de Janeiro, with people gathered around a table, playing tunes, singing along, drinking, and having fun. With a core group comprised of Fernanda Bravo (voice/pandeiro), Gregg Mervine, (cavaquinho/percussion), Rob Curto (accordion) and Gabriel Furtado (violão), the Philly Roda will perform choro and samba music from 3 PM to 6 PM on the first Sunday of each month at Black Squirrel Club. Each month will feature different special guest artists. The caipirinhas will be flowing and there will be complimentary Brazilian snacks (coxinha, pão de queijo) while they last (arrive early!) and of course lots of amazing music and dancing!

Black Squirrel Club offers a full bar. Other than the complimentary snacks for this event, we do not serve food, but you are welcome to bring your own or have it delivered once you arrive.
