“The Philadelphia Jazz Tap Ensemble bravely brings together a many stranded web of cultural expressions….they step beyond tap’s obvious role as an entertainment practice and expose its deep spiritual elements, which are rarely explored before audiences.” —Homer Jackson, Philadelphia Jazz Project
“The Philadelphia Jazz Tap Ensemble’s original production of Terry Pollard was a joyous and captivating performance, highlighting PJTE’s dynamic artistic collaborations and community partnerships.” —Office of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, City of Philadelphia
“TROUBLE THE WATER changed the vibrational dynamics of the space in profound and impactful ways...the Philadelphia Jazz Tap Ensemble worked WITH the exhibit elements to create something new and extraordinary—a tapestry in motion, where the movement and the exhibits merged inviting the audience into the depths of swimming, dance, large-scale architectural projections, mythological poetry, and the African American experience of water. I can say without hesitation that any investment in the work of the Philadelphia Jazz Tap Ensemble will reverberate in unexpected and wondrous ways.” —Victoria Prizzia, Creator of POOL
